This potato cake is truly exquisite and original. Just remember, good things take time, so you'll need to leave them in the oven for a while until they're crispy on the edges and tender in the center.

I assure you that your mouth will water while you serve them. Let's do them!


Baked Potato Cake: A Creamy and Crispy Delight

Ingredients:

(6 serves )

  • 4 large potatoes

  • Pepper to taste

  • Salt to taste

  • 5 grams of butter (about a teaspoon)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Gouda cheese (enough to cover the layers of potatoes)

  • Garlic powder to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preparation of the Potatoes:

    • First, wash the 4 large potatoes well and cut them into thin slices. Remember to be careful with the knife! You can also use a peeler and cut potato slices.

  2. Seasoning of the Potatoes:

    • Place the potato slices in a large bowl. Add salt, pepper and a pinch of garlic powder. Then, add enough olive oil (approx. 1 - 1 1/2 Tbsp.) and mix everything well.

  3. Cake Assembly:

    • Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).

    • Lightly grease a baking pan with a little butter (just a little since the potatoes already have oil in them)

    • Now, place the potato slices in the mold vertically, one after the other. Make sure they are arranged well, this will give your cake a spectacular look!

  4. Filled in:

    • Between the layers of potatoes, place cubes of Gouda cheese and small cuts of butter. You can also try grated Gouda cheese. This will give a creamy and delicious touch to your cake. Distribute the butter evenly between the layers.

  5. Baked:

    • Bake for about 1 hour, or until the potatoes are golden and crispy on top. The smell is going to be irresistible!

  6. Serve:

    • Once ready, remove the cake from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before cutting into portions. Wait a bit so you don't burn yourself!

    • Serve hot and enjoy this creamy, crunchy delight. Your friends and family will be delighted!
